BrandsEye MD & Head Pirate
Tim has a varied and colourful past that seems to have always tended towards his natural ability to lead. Having spent most of his childhood in East London, his arrival in Cape Town was the start of Tim's jack of all trades lifestyle. While in school he dabbled in helping underprivileged kids, recycling, computers and catering (he also loves small fluffy bunnies and long walks on the beach).
After realising that he might not be cut out for the life of an Artificial Intelligence Engineer, Tim started getting into magic (Close up Magic) and regards ol' Copperfield as one of his greatest fans. Magic isn't the only thing he's done though (thankfully as that would make him kinda weird). For his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree Timmy majored in Computer Science and Psychology (a bizarre combination; we'll give him that) and while studying at UCT he was involved in student leadership and sat on a wide range of bodies ranging from the Sports Council through to the Student Assembly. With a strong leaning towards social development, his biggest contribution was large scale fundraising (as the vice-chair of UCT RAG) - where upwards of R1.2 million was raised yearly. Timmy was involved for 4 years and says that he owes a lot of his personal development his time spent at UCT.
Tim has combined his class learnings with the skills he acquired whilst on UCT's RAG committee - marketing, IT and eventing - and has unleashed them onto Quirk. Thankfully for Tim he still has the opportunity to get back into the classroom more often than he would have anticipated. He returns to his alma mater from time to time do some guest lecturing and also gives periodic lectures at AAA School of Advertising and has taught a full HTML, CSS and eMarketing course at Friends of Design.
As the Project Manager on Quirk’s ambitious SAT Google Earth layer, Tim had his hands full. But he rose to the challenge and somehow managed to combine his duties as Marketing Manager with this massive project to successfully help the team complete an incredible project. This hard work was celebrated at the end of 2008 when Quirk was honoured with the E-consultancy award for Innovation in SEO for this amazing undertaking.
When he's not working hard Timmy spends time wreaking havoc and performing card, coin and silk magic (usually in order to wreak more havoc).
