Head of Traffic & Spiritual Suebo
In May 2008, Sue Cilliers settled into Quirk Cape Town to lead the charge as Head of Traffic, bringing a sigh of relief and a smile to many a Stars’ face. Suebo (as we like to call her) helps us keep our proverbial project ducks in a row. She follows timelines from start to finish, liaising between client service and production, enjoying the odd ciggie in between and making sure we’ve got all we need to create kick-ass work. There are also some occasions when it’s Sue herself who does the ass-kicking, but that’s one of the (many) reasons we love her.
She’s a bit of a mad hatter, has a sparkling sense of humour and a naturally fun-loving and energetic nature. Looking after her loved ones and the environment is very important to this Janis Joplin fan, who also considers her two kitties, Masai and Seven, to fall within the “loved ones” category. We don’t dispute that, ‘cause we’re all about the furry friends here at Quirk. Before joining our family (and yes, we are a family), Sue studied at the University of Life. Her diverse career path has seen her spend time in Israel, Spain and Portugal and prove her mettle in various capacities, including the casino industry, journalism and of ultimately, traffic. Along the way, she also learnt to say thank you in 11 languages and the odd (read: about 100) swear words.
Sue values her spirituality, but whatever you do, do not call her by her full name, which is… just kidding! (I value my life too much to let that one slip). Not only is Sue a valued part of our team and a dedicated QuirkStar, but she’s also a series fan and a lover of all things that smell like delicious perfume. I guarantee you that this lady’s braver than most men, but funnily enough is petrified of locusts. You see, there’s a bit of “quirk” in all of us!
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
