QuirkStudling & Paul “My Left Ski”
The January 2012 addition to the Johannesburg Intern Pen came in the form of QuirkStudling, Paul Milewski. While poor pronunciation of his Polish surname might have hinted at a future as a pro skier, alas, South Africa just didn’t have the climate to build this dream. So Paul did what (according to him) every kid who doesn’t reeeally have a plan does: He got himself a BCom in Marketing and Management. Not yet done with Monash University, Paul scooped himself BBusSci in Marketing. Along the way, he also acquired a much easier nickname to remember: “My left ski” (say it aloud for maximum effect).
Out of university and into the real world, Paul stumbled into work at a music agency before moving onto a skateboard distribution company. “My left ski” then followed his previously infallible logic of doing “what seems like a good idea” and got into the digital world. Now he’s as hooked on 9GAG, Cracked.com and Soccerway as he is on custard! A soccer-obsessed guitar player, Paul spends his free time with his two best mates: Luna, his Labrador-Boerboel cross, and Toro, his American Staffie. Furry friends FTW!
