Designer & B-boy
Clearly not fazed by the apparently imminent end of the world, mellow fellow, Mpumelelo Macu, joined Quirk Jozi as a Designer in in January 2012.
Boasting the nickname,“Flash”, Mpumelelo’s “kinky (?) relationship with design” led him to study Multimedia and Production at City Varsity in Jozi. Seeing his MacBook as a limb extension rather than a separate entity, Mpumelelo keeps his blog and website alive with regular documentation of urban street culture. When this lover of photography’s not updating his own sites, you’ll find him checking out Nalden, Laid Back and Design Inspiration. Mpumi also confesses that he can’t live without HypeBeast and 75.
Described as weird, talkative and cool, Mpumi says he was a really naughty kid… Then again, with five brothers to compete with, it’s perfectly acceptable. You wouldn’t know it, but the chilled out Mpumi (whose childhood hero was the princess-saving plumber, Super Mario) also used to be a break-dancer!
