Marcel Nel

QuirkStudling & Water Baby

Marcel Nel

Marcel Nel joined the Cape Town QuirkStation as a Studling in May 2011. Growing up, he dreamed of one day taking to the ring as a pro wrestler (true story), but soon abandoned a career involving very toit pant and fell in love with the world of marketing. After school, this keen surfer dude jetted off to London town where he spent a gap year 6-months. Once back on South African soil, he headed to Boland College where he studied a National Diploma in Marketing before completing his honours through UNISA.

Marcellus Wallace (his stage name) chose a digital life because he can always get an up-to-date description of what the swell’s like (fully, bru). He’s also inspired by the inherent potential the Interwebs presents. Marcel’s ideal day off would include an early morning fly fishing session, a surf with mates at the local spot and a lekker braai (sounds good!). This James Bond fanatic loves the Stormers, Magic Seaweed and if he could, he’d make all parking in the Cape Town city centre free (amen to that!). Marcel also currently holds the Quirk record for downing a bottle of beer in 9 seconds. #fact.
