The ladies of the QuirkStation are not ashamed to admit that they appreciate a little eye candy now and then, but we swear that is not why Gawain was hired. This model citizen also has a marketing brain of note and has joined the London QuirkStation to finally give Matt some serious competition.
Another Saffer freezing in London, Gawain has quite the diverse background having been to school in both Cape Town and Jozi and attended the University of Johannesburg back when it was still known as RAU. His Bachelors degree in Journalism included everything from English Literature to Marketing and Advertising and put him in good stead for what lay ahead.
Gawain's laid-back attitude would have us believing that, since graduating in 2003, he has been sipping cocktails and lying on the beach with mermaids, but he has in fact been quite busy. Not only was he a marketing manager at the Opium Group and Productions but he also started his own brand management consultancy where he took care of everything from eMarketing to visual branding and events. A far cry from the fire-fighting policeman he wanted to be when he grew up - but at least we know the man can multitask.
In case you were wondering, the name Gawain stems from the time of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Sir Gawain is often regarded as the greatest of all the knights - and our version of the great knight is not adverse to you calling him Sir. We are not sure if he is going to get that one right with the QuirkStars, but we wish him the best of luck trying!

Thanks very much for the WebPR conference yesterday. It was the most engaging conference I’ve attended in a long time. The overviews and insights were useful. The advice on how to get going with this stuff is a great starter-pack and will open a whole new way of operating for me – once I get through all the reading. - Marian S.
