eMarketing Executive & Travel Extraordinaire
Growing up as tomboy, Debra Lee Goldschmidt (aka Debz) used to idolise The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the colour blue. This was before she developed a passion for sports - excluding those with racquets - and horse riding.
Debby’s love for turtle-shelled cartoon heroes encouraged her childhood dream to become a vet and to one day abolish all cruelty to animals and humans (we like her already).
However, the dream of being a vet was replaced by something quite different when she matriculated from Herschel Girls' High School in 2004. She chose to study a Bachelor of Business Science at University of Cape Town (Honours nogal) ‘cause she wanted a well-recognised business degree and fancied marketing because of it having a “creative and fun” aspect.
Before joining the QuirkStars, Debz set off to the Virgin Islands where spent 5 months living and working, before embarking on a tour of America. Debby left the likes of Vegas and Los Angeles behind and came back to settle down in the Ou’ Kaap with her 3 small yapping dogs.
Before Quirk, Debby spent her days Facebooking, drinking tea, seeing friends, shopping and keeping active dancing in clubs or going for runs. She joined the Quirk team knowing that a life online is the future (hell yeah sister!), she hopes to add more fun and humour to the Quirk dynamic as well as a lot of hard work.
She loves to treat herself to watching hours of mindless series and couldn’t live without going onto YouTube, News24, Priceline and Facebook on her sparkly-new laptop. This arachnophobe could, however live without 8-legged furry crawlers. She’s been described by her friends as loyal, brave and a bit strange (?) but hey, that’s why she’ll fit in so well at the Cape Town QuirkStation.
Debra has passed the GAIQ (Google Analytics Individual Qualification)
