Claire McGuinness

Account Manager & Idealist

Claire McGuinness has had many career dreams since her school days in England, including desires to be an actress, guitarist, conservationist and veterinarian - until she realised that she'd have to put animals to sleep.

Her sojourn into the working world has been as varied as her childhood aspirations; Claire's previous experience includes 5 years as a sales representative/manager in the hospitality industry. She has also owned her own company which was focused on event design, artist representation and PR within the South African music industry and before joining the growing group of QuirkStars, Claire worked with international fundraising agency, Breadline Africa.

Claire describes herself as positive, feisty and friendly. She reckons her sixth sense is her honed judge of character. When she's not body surfing, watching Kung Fu movies, or having fun with her daughter Kiara, and two cats, Ozzie and Princess Leia, Claire loves to build fires (apparently day or night).

Claire cannot live without the Internet, her favourite sites being Overtone, Bizcommunity and (drum roll please...) Facebook. Her passion and positive attitude are what make her an über-important link in the Quirk chain, where she focuses primarily on the acquisition of new business and the management and growth of her existing client base.

When asked about her future, Claire says "I'm very aware of what I'd like to do and what I would like to learn, and I feel that Quirk and I have a long journey to travel together."
