Designer & Musician
Designer, Ben Brouckaert joined the Cape Town Create Team in March 2011. Growing up he wanted to be an astronaut or an adventurer and found a rather unusual childhood hero in Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine (Captain Planet would be heartbroken).
After finishing High School in George, Ben did the gap year(s) thing, spending two years in London working and travelling. Once he had gained sufficient life skills (such as the valuable lesson that falling onto a homeless man’s metal box will end in an open head wound), he returned to South Africa where he obtained his diploma in Multimedia Design from CityVarsity. Ben chose this career path because of the happy marriage between technology and design and his passion for creativity. Before joining Quirk, Ben worked in Web Design and Front-end Development at Cytrus Technologies.
A good day for this young designer would include a large breakfast, a swim at the Cape Milner hotel (throwing in a cocktail or two for good measure), band practice and a good night out. The Canadian-born musician’s most prized possession is his music collection and he can’t live without Webdesignledger, Ffffound and Dribbble.
This loyal, open weirdo (as his friends would describe him), joined Quirk because he wants to learn, grow, contribute and be a part of something great. *Snaps to that*.
