Optimise Apprentice & Smurf
Asmitha Maharaj joined the Cape Town Studlings completing the Quirk Graduate Programme in June 2011. Growing up, this self-proclaimed numbers fundi dreamed of becoming a banker. Makes sense that she scooted off to grab a BCom in Marketing and Decision Sciences at UNISA straight after school.
Smurf (as she’s affectionately known) was drawn to a life online because of the medium’s interconnected nature and the endless amount of information (read numbers) at her fingertips. After a very successful stint as Head Intern (and impressing many along the way) Asmitha found her true calling in Team Optimise where she settled in for her Apprenticeship in Decemeber 2011. She loves spending time with her Staffie/Jack Russell, Newton and when she’s not at Quirk or watching Big Bang Theory, you’ll find Asmitha trawling her favourite online properties: Wikipedia, Google and Facebook.
