As a kid, Asher considered a range of diverse options for his future career - fireman, a member of the Bionic Six team and a parking meter attendant (I may have made that last one up, but you get the idea). So naturally after school he moved into… hospitality management. Quickly realising that this didn’t quite accommodate his interests in fire fighting, super heroes or even parking meters, Asher moved on to do a BA in Marketing Communication.
From there the marketing bug bit and all super hero tendencies were abandoned and Asher rather pursued a Diploma in Advertising, Strategy, Media Planning, and Account Management at the University of Johannesburg. After graduating he took on the challenge of setting up a marketing department for Thirst, a cocktail and mobile bar company. His new role included everything from strategising to securing sponsorships and we’re sure that sampling a few cocktails was also included.
Asher’s “Thirst” for marketing (beat that lame pun) brought him to Quirk as a Junior Account Manager in our JoziStation. His love of sarcasm, football and Macs means that he fits in quite well, except for the fact that he calls pizza his vice. Pizza is a way of life at Quirk – show some respect. Asher even has the Quirk-required pet that he refers to as a pavement special. Just remember that round here we prefer “pedigree challenged”…
