Quirk will be attending an annual event that delivers insight on how to engage, enable and inspire businesses at the 2011 Tech4Africa conference, that will be held between October 27 and 28 at the Forum in Johannesburg.
Knight says Africa has a unique set of challenges, and while there are some amazing success stories, innovation.
“There are some folks doing some incredible technical stuff that a lot of people don't know about,” he said.
“There needs to be a mentality that it's OK to fail. South Africa also needs more success stories people can relate to and an ecosystem that promotes new ideas and fresh thinking, to begin to see change. It's already starting, and you can see the first fruits of it happening right now.”
QuirkStars attending the conference are looking forward to sharing digital ideas with some of the greatest minds in the industry.
Some of the focus areas will be:
- Emerging tech and trends for Africa.
- Applications for Web 2.0 in Africa.
- Mobile & wireless innovation and trends for the next 3 years.
- Cloud computing and its relevance for business in Africa.
- Start-ups & business opportunities in Africa.
- African success stories.
- The funding landscape in Africa.
It is a wonderful opportunity for those who use technology and understand its growing and evolving nature globally to network and gain better insight.
