Quirk Launches Accreditation Exam

It’s a proud day for many of us at Quirk – the launch of the Quirk Accreditation Exam. After many late nights and early mornings we are finally providing a way for you to not only measure your own eMarketing knowledge (across all tactics) but also prove your online marketing competency to your boss and future employers.

We realised after publishing the second edition of our textbook this year that you didn’t only need the information, but that you also needed a way of proving your knowledge and skills. With over 100 000 copies of the book out there (both digital and dead tree) there seemed no better time to present you guys with that very chance.

This exam offers employers the opportunity to assess their teams’ proficiency and screen potential job candidates while giving keen individuals the chance to contend and succeed in a highly competitive employment market.

The exam is multiple choice and comprises of 300 questions which you have 2 hours to complete. (Yes, it’s tough). It costs $200 to write and takes place entirely online.  It is based on eMarketing: the essential guide to online marketing. Our advice: keep a copy right by your side – the exam is open book and there certainly are some tricky questions that you will want to look up. Also, the pass mark is 75%. Why so high? Well, we wouldn’t let a brain surgeon with a 50% pass mark come near us with a scalpel so why let an eMarketer near your online presence only knowing 50% of the good stuff? 

Almost 100 clever people have already passed the exam and in fact we already have our first Quirk Certified Agency! Clickmaven, run by the intrepid Ferdie Bester, is a boutique paid search agency based out of Johannesburg. All of their staff are Quirk Certified as an agency, they have also passed our rigorous approval process. As such we feel comfortable recommending them to smaller businesses.
